-
What has
"Calvary Ministries" got to do with the
word "CAPRO"? The ministry started
off as "Calvary Productions" from where
the acronym "CAPRO" was coined. Then,
the ministry was involved in all sorts
of Christian services, but with time,
the outreach arm became more prominent,
necessitating the change of name to
Calvary Ministries, while retaining the
acronym CAPRO.
-
Who is
the founder of CAPRO? CAPRO has
founders and not a founder. It was
conceived and run by a team and the team
captain then was Bro. Bayo Famonure who
eventually became her first Chief
Executive until 1988.
-
How is
CAPRO funded? CAPRO is a
non-denominational faith mission -
not exclusively funded by any particular
group, Church or organisation. The funds
for running the operations of the
ministries come from freewill offerings
and gifts of various Christian
individuals and groups.
-
Why
doesn't CAPRO have outreach ministries
in the South of Nigeria? CAPRO
targets people groups that have not
heard the gospel or heard it enough to
reach others. Although some of these
people groups could be found in the
southern part of Nigeria, the majority
are in the north. Like Paul, our desire
is to push the frontiers of the kingdom
and preach the gospel where Christ is
not known. (Rom.15: 20,22)
-
What
happens to the Churches planted by CAPRO
missionaries? Though not a Church
denomination, CAPRO plants Churches
among the peoples she works because
there are no Churches there and also to
have both a base and a reason for
discipleship.
CAPRO does not own these Churches. They
are self-governing, self-propagating and
largely self-supporting. After a Church
might have been brought to maturity, she
is handed over to indigenes, and the
apostolic team moves on. But they could
go back to these Churches once a while
to teach or resolve some doctrinal
conflicts.
