The CAPRO story began on the 25th of April, 1975 in Zaria as a follow up to what had happened on December 24 the previous year. A few Christian ‘’Corpers’’ posted to the North of Nigeria and camped in Zaria, had attempted a crusade in front of the Emir's palace. It was more of a “suicide mission” than a rescue mission. But then, there was no going back. The battle for the souls of the Muslims of northern Nigeria had begun. From that outreach, the fire was lit to take the unreached and predominantly Muslims of northern Nigeria and French speaking West Africa for Jesus. To see those ‘’dry bones’’ not only come alive and put on flesh, but be built into a strong army for the Lord.
TODAY…
…the vision has blossomed into a viable mission with over 550 missionaries engaged in diverse ministries in 27 African countries, the Middle East and Europe. Plans are on to open up new works in other African Countries as well as part of Eastern Europe and Asia.

The uniqueness of Calvary Ministries (CAPRO) is the specific focus the ministry has placed on the unreached and least evangelized peoples. They are targeted for evangelism, discipleship, and church planting, while some countries with viable national Churches are targeted for missions’ awareness, mobilization and training.
