This is a fellowship of women who are
burdened about the work of missions and are
ready to do something about it.
Though the vision had been there since 1998,
the fellowship was officially inaugurated on
the 6th of November 2002. The aim is to
expose women to the realities of the great
commission and to encourage them to find
their place and fulfil the will of God for
their lives to either GO or SUPPORT the way
only women can.
Our Work
At
the onset, our major challenge was to make
the fellowship a forum for women to get
spiritually, emotionally and socially
built-up. This came up as we realized that
God's work cannot be done by carnal vessels.
This burden has gotten part of its
expression in the monthly meetings we
organize. Through these meetings, we have
seen God raise us and as many women that
come to these meetings to heights we never
thought we could reach. For each woman, the
experience has been the certainty that God
has a unique task for us. By inviting female
missionaries from the fields to these
monthly meetings, we have also been able to
see and put ourselves in their shoes thereby
identifying needs and possible areas of
involvement.
The fellowship also organizes field trips.
This has been a constant source of
inspiration for practical involvement in
missions by the women. The trips are so
effective that the women no longer need the
pills of stories to hold up the missions
mandate in their hearts. First timers on
these trips usually encounter challenges
that would change and re-define their
perceptions of life. The missions challenge
gets a practical response.
The activities of Women In Missions are
divided into five major operational
groups:1. Strategy and Planning.
2.Coordination. 3. Awareness. 4. Finance.
5.Prayer
